Consultants and clients can be further assured of Universe Technology’s understanding of legal compliance and good practice within the sphere of recruitment.
This was confirmed by Universe Technology’s recent performance in the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s (REC) Compliance Test.
The pass mark has recently been increased to 75%, however Universe Technology scored almost full marks in its first attempt.
The REC uses the test to assess an agency’s knowledge of the relevant industry legislation and the REC Code of Professional Practice (REC Code). By doing this REC can determine if new applicants for membership can become full REC members and whether existing REC members can renew and retain their membership.
The test questions cover key industry legislation and in particular the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (the Conduct Regulations) and the REC Code of Professional Practice. When agencies join the REC they sign up to the REC Code which requires basic statutory compliance as well as higher ethical standards.
In addition, the company’s German subsidiary is a member of the iGZ (Interessenverband Deutscher Zeitarbeitsunternehmen) and conforms to the practices prescribed by the organisation.
Other parts of the group are also committed to legal and ethical practices in their chosen jurisdictions, and Universe Technology and all its group companies pride themselves on their commitment to legal and ethical recruitment practices wherever they are active.
